This is a short clip I shot during the Unity Point Health Red White & Boom fireworks show in Peoria, IL. It’s the largest fireworks show in Illinois.
I shot this whole clip hand held using the Panasonic G85 sensor stabilization. I then added some Warp stabilizer in post and the footage is surprisingly good! I was actually bumping against other people and my girlfriend was wrapped around me so I couldn’t even stand very steady. It’s a testament to how good sensor stabilization is getting that you can even get usable footage under those conditions.
I hunted around in the YouTube music library for some patriotic sounding “fireworks” music both to avoid getting a copyright strike from the actual music they did the fireworks to but also because I feel like these sorts of songs are a lot more fitting than the generic country they play at fireworks shows these days.
